Create a Fleet of Sites

Objective

This guide provides instructions on how to create a fleet of sites using the Volterra platform. You can use the fleet to apply same configuration on a number of sites or devices on the sites belonging to the fleet. See Fleet for more information.

Prerequisites

Note: In case you do not have an account, see Create a VES Account.

  • Two or more registered sites in the enterprise tenant.

Note: If you do not have a registered site, see How-to Create a Site.

Configuration

This guide covers creating a fleet object in the Volterra console and adding sites and associated devices to the fleet.

The following figure shows the sequence of steps in creating a Volterra Site:

Configuration Sequence

Creating a fleet includes performing the following sequence of actions:

Phase Description
Create Virtual Networks Create virtual networks representing inside and outside networks.
Create Network Interface Create network interface for applying to fleet configuration.
Create Network Connector Create network connector for applying to fleet configuration.
Create Network Firewall Create a firewall for applying to fleet configuration.
Create Fleet Object Configure fleet object on the Volterra console and obtain fleet label.
Add Sites to the Fleet Add two or more sites to the fleet using the generated fleet label.

Create Virtual Networks

Step 1: Select the system namespace. Select Manage from the configuration menu and select Networking from the options pane. Select Virtual Network and click Add virtual network.
